Star Spangled Banner
The flag of the United States of America has long been a symbol of freedom. It also represents all those who have given their lives to protect this precious gift. There is a passage in the song by Frances Scott Key that says, “The Star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave”. The price of freedom is not free. My husband’s uncle, at age 19, died defending the Pacific in WWII. Our fathers and ancestors have spent years in the Service of our country. May we be ever mindful of what this great emblem stands for and find gratitude in this remembrance.
