Tree of Life
There is a globe willow tree in Draper Park that is decorated every winter with hundreds of glowing warm white lights. It is called the “Tree of Life”. There is something magical about standing under it too. I also wanted the painting to be symbolic. The tree herself is like a mother, earthly or heavenly, watching over us and giving us light and life. The white fruit represents knowledge and pure love, such as the love of Christ. The straight and narrow path leads us to the tree and the lavender fields create a feeling of peace and comfort. The sky is a spectrum of energetic colors. The shape of the canvas is a hexagon which is like a honeycomb and is also the universal symbol of strength.
