Iris Elegance

Every Spring the beautiful irises arise and unfold from the garden near our back patio. My mind returns to my Aunt Georgia’s home where one whole side of her driveway was graced by the elegant ruffled petals of these exquisite blossoms. I started this painting during an art signing demonstration at a large bookstore and continued painting it afterwards. I love how it captures the shimmer of the sunlight through the center of this elegant flower.
